Trinidad & Tobago — one of our high-volume Caribbean routes

Trinidad & Tobago is a real, repeated route for us, generally through Miami on Caribbean Airlines Cargo (we've also used a routing through Georgetown, Guyana, when needed). Trinidad & Tobago requires a rabies titer test in addition to the standard vaccination and microchip — this is a genuine difference from Barbados, so please don't assume the two islands' requirements are interchangeable just because they're both in the same region.

What doesn't vary: the basics

Across virtually every island in the region, you'll need an ISO-standard microchip implanted before your pet's rabies vaccination, a USDA-endorsed health certificate, and — for most islands — an import permit from that island's agriculture or veterinary authority. Miami is the dominant gateway for the Caribbean, and Caribbean Airlines Cargo is our most-used carrier.

Worth knowing

Always confirm quotes include what you think they include. Import/customs quotes and full-service totals aren't the same thing — we itemize this clearly for every Caribbean booking.
A name mismatch between a rabies certificate and a titer test can cause a delay. If your pet's ownership changed hands recently, flag this to us early.
Requirements differ by island. Rabies wait periods and health certificate validity windows don't carry over from one island to the next — confirm Trinidad & Tobago's specifically.
